Taking A Pharmacy Technician Test

In order to reap the benefits of a well-paid position as a pharmacy technician or `PT`, individuals are recommended to attend a qualified PT program or obtain a 2-year Associates’ degree with emphasis on becoming a pharmacy tech.

With that education, program attendees and college graduates can easily take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam and earn their CPhT, which will help ensure their access to the best employment positions and not only basic retail positions.

About the Pharmacy Technician Test in the US

US PTs who pass the PT Certification Exam will earn their CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician), which makes them available for employment by one of the increasing numbers of facilities that are requiring certification for pharmacy techs.

Comprised of multiple-choice questions, the PCTE is a computerized exam given in one sitting at numerous testing locations, with a time allotment of 110 minutes to complete it.

Of those questions, 66% of the test covers assisting pharmacists in serving patients, 22% covers medication control and inventory and 12% covers pharmacy management and administration.

The purpose of these questions is to determine an examinee’s knowledge of the pharmacy industry, their role as an assistant and other important topics that are essential when working as a pharmacy tech.

Those who pass the exam receive the certification of CPhT. Those who do not pass the exam may re-test up to three more times. In order to take the PCTE exam again, a period of 60 days must pass between each attempt; 6 months must pass before the last re-test will be permitted. Currently, the cost of taking the exam is $129 USD each time.

Additionally, the National Healthcare Association offers a PT test as well, which also awards those who pass with the certification of CPhT. There is no difference in certification received; both exams offer the same qualifications.

About the Pharmacy Technician Test in the UK

In the UK, the General Pharmaceutical Council maintains a registration of all qualified individuals working in the pharmacy profession including technicians, as well as monitors all educational programs that provide qualifications in which technicians can become registered with the GPC.

Those looking to become GPC registered must complete specific educational and professional training in order to qualify. They must possess four GSCEs that are grade C or higher and must include math, science, English, and one other course, as well as have either completed a 2 year GPhC accredited pharmacy technician course or have accrued 2 years worth of GPhC approved, job-related experience.

They must also complete one of the following three certification groupings as follows: a) Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Service AND Level 3 Diploma Pharmaceutical Science,

b) Level 3 NVQ in Pharmacy Service AND BTEC National Diploma Pharmaceutical Science,

or c) National Certificate Pharmaceutical Science, National Certificate Pharmaceutical Services,

Level 3 SVQ Pharmacy Services AND Level 3 SVQ/Level 6 SCQF Pharmacy Services (all four qualifications).

One of these three choices, with the work experience requirement fulfilled as well, are necessary to become a Registered Pharmacy Technician under the GPC.

More detailed information about taking the PHTC PT Test – including study guides, tutorials and practice tests – can be found on the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s website.

Additionally, all certifications and qualifications have specific requirements for continuing education and professional development, as most healthcare industry professions do.

Continuing education accredited courses and information is also available at these sites. Information differs depending on country and region, but today most countries either require – or recommend – certification of all PTs via educational programs and work experience or externship.

Although it may seem like there is a lot involved with obtaining the highest certifications for a pharmacy technician, taking the pharmacy technician test in order to earn the title of CPhT, Pharmacy Technician or other qualified title is recommended.

While it is possible for individuals to take the required testing on just work experience alone, passing is harder to do without the educational background typically given by any of the recognized or accredited programs or college courses designed to help students take, and pass, these exams.

Only by having the necessary certifications will a pharmacy tech be able to obtain a more diverse, advanced and high-paying position.

Rome Sweet Home?

It is August of 1993, in Chicago. A meeting of the World Parliament of Religions, forerunner of the coming World Church. Do I need tell you which religious group played the leading role in this most Satanic of assemblies? It seemed the whole world was running to Rome in those days.

In 1994, continuing my research into the Roman question, I was introduced to a book that has become quite popular in Protestant leadership circles. It is the story of a leader who converted to the Roman system, Scott Hahn. His book is called Rome Sweet Home.

After I read the book, I was amazed at how solid, even now, some of the arguments sound to me. I had to go immediately to the Word of God, to reassure myself that things hadn’t really changed there. When I was confident that it was Scott, and not the Bible, that was making a change, I spent most of an entire day writing the following letter. I trust it will benefit you, and help you understand once more how clever is the Enemy, how close are his deceptions, and how serious is the matter of personal discipleship, and commitment to seeking out the truth of God’s Word.

An Open Letter to Scott Hahn

In the Name of the Sole Head of the Church, which is His Body, I greet you.

My name is Bob Faulkner. I am a Christian, and a teacher in the Chicago Public School

System. I was originally ordained to the ministry of a Protestant denomination, but am now

supporting myself in the secular world. As a student of the Roman question these past years, a former member of Romanism by choice, and earlier still, a “cradle Catholic,” it was only a matter of time, I guess, before I would read your works.

While fighting my own “reformation” in the 60’s, in Cincinnati, I was thrust from my Protestant denomination, which I had adopted early in my life, after the original Catholic phase.

At question then was the baptism of the Holy Ghost. My pastor in this awkward period of my life was a good friend of your fatherEUR’inEUR’law, who I came to know and respect. I think we met only once, but Dr. Jerry Kirk’s preaching, life, and openness to the things of God, helped mold my own thinking. I am indebted to him.

Wanting to be true only to God and His Word, I too gave up what seemed to be a promising career in the “ministry.” My own denomination said I could not preach any more, and my newly adopted church had problems with some of my theology also.

As I continued walking in my new spiritual experience, I felt I was supposed to open to the Roman Catholic system. It is a tale not unlike your own, of a man aching for truth, willing to follow God anywhere, give up anything.

But as I have written in my testimony, the struggle did not end at the threshold of the Roman door. Continued honesty before God continued to bring me into confrontations. Seven years later the journey ended in a total reversal, when I realized I would never fit in to the curious assortment of collected truths called Rome.

Rome wasn’t sweet, or home, to me. I marvel that it is to you. And I have read every word of your book. Rome’s lambEUR’like, ChristianEUR’like, BibleEUR’like side had lured me in. Ah freedom! Ah, I’m home!

But when the doors shut behind me it slowly occurred to me what I had done. In accepting certain teachings and certain personages within Rome’s system, I closed my eyes to the greater truth: that it is an amalgamation of, not only Christ ‘s Words, but also the words of Thomas Aquinas, the words of the fathers, the words of the Popes, the words of the councils…This system is what the Bible refers to as “Babylon.” It is pure confusion.

Something for everyone. That’s what I was told, and that was the truth. If I couldn’t handle the “Mary” thing, I could fellowship at least with charismatic Catholics. Not into heavy liturgy, go to a guitar mass. Not into statues…and so on.

I trust it will not take you as long as it took me to see that Rome houses an infinite variety of irreconcilable differences. That Rome shows only that part of its makeEUR’up which is digestible at the moment.

Allow me to suggest some Scriptural principles you may have forgotten:

1) Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desparately wicked…”

When we follow any directive outside what God has already revealed to His apostles, we are on personal ground, always dangerous. Human logic will not avail here, only God’s logic. I give as an example your new feelings about Mary.

I have shown in my book Scarlet Threads the progress through the centuries of the Marian dogmas. This progress you seem to have gone through in just a few years. Every step seems logical to you. It all makes “sense,” as you said several times in your book. But in fact, these dogmas deny the written Word of God, and are therefore only close to the truth, therefore a damnable lie.

Let’s keep it simple, so all can understand: Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned.

Following God’s logic, not our own, we come up with these facts:

everyone has sinned against God (not merely had the sin nature)

God Himself has not sinned. That includes God the Son, Jesus

Mary is not God, in any sense. She is part of “everyone.”

Mary has sinned.

If indeed Mary was a sinner, and needed to be filled with God’s Spirit on Pentecost, and needed a Saviour, as she confessed, all the inflated teachings of her glorification must be false.

Who can come against this Word? Thomas? a church “father”? My personal experience?

Yours? (the experience thing sounds very Protestant to me!)

The argument, also from Scripture, regarding her other sons and daughters, is further proof that Roman teachings are false. Only a dishonest translation of Scripture would use the word “cousin.” Jesus’ own attitude and near silence regarding her is further proof.

But I was saying, with Jeremiah, that our heart deceives us. Our heart, that is, what we want out of life, added to human logic given by men we trust, is almost overwhelming in its appeal.

But what saith God? Are the apostles to be the foundation stones or not? What indeed, Scott Hahn, is to be the foundation of all truth? Why does Scripture declare that the church is that foundation? Paul, in Ephesians, tells us that the church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus the chief cornerstone.

So what Jesus says and is, what the apostles and prophets have handed down to us, that is the foundation of truth! The deposit of faith was given to chosen witnesses. It was handed down first orally, then in written form. The deposit is for all to see and hear who have eyes and ears. No secret Gnostic like hidden wisdom for the elite! The Book thus formed is the most documented, verifiable Book of all time.

Away then with the smokescreen arguments against sola scriptura! Show me one bona fide Catholic scholar who denies the truth of the written Word of God. I ask you, if that Book be true, does not “logic” demand that anything opposed to it is false? If that Book be silent on an issue, is there need of any mortal to speak?

I ask further, Can the church flourish with only that Book as its guide? Certainly there are Protestant churches that have added their creeds, decrees, catechisms, and constitutions. Shame on them! God has given us what we need! He knows how to speak. He has spoken! All who speak further are, I believe, damned liars, for, cannot the warning at the end of Revelation be appended to any word from Almighty God?

Talk to me not of Luther or Calvin or even Williams or Wesley, who were kinder and gentler and truer specimens of “Protestant.” Talk to me of Jesus, His apostles, His foundation.

Let me be even untrue to my own feelings and constantly changing opinions. Let me say with faith, “Thy Word is Truth.” And let it be settled.

Another Scriptural foundation that you may have forgotten comes to us from Hebrews 11: 2) they looked for a city whose builder and maker is God.

When I first checked out Rome, I confess I was looking for an earthly city, a “lo here” or “lo there”, a place to go to, a group to identify with, the perfect church. Looking for something physically identifiable will lead you to the city of man.

To find the city of man it is necessary to have human eyes, to see where the large crowds are; human ears to hear the purely human logic; human taste to imbibe a physical Christ; human senses to enjoy the music and odors and incenses of human liturgy.

Of all the cities of man, there has never been one as resplendent as Rome. For over 2000 years she has been a reminder of the other of earth’s cities, whose sister she is, Babylon. One who wants to see the crowds, touch the power, hear common sense, eat flesh, drink blood, must go to Rome, the city of man.

But confuse her not with the city of God. The new Jerusalem. The better, the heavenly country. The homeland sweet indeed which is not for now, but later. The home which we obtain by confessing that here we are pilgrims. The city that has foundations, yea apostolic foundations! whose Builder and Maker is God.

What is the pilgrim church like, anyway? Rich, high and mighty, settled? Oh no! Gather around me a people who love Jesus and His Word only! Give me even one whose heart is as my own. There is the church! There is Christ! And the one who is ahead of me in this walk, there is my elder! What else do I need, I ask you to show me from Scripture.

Place me with those people, few though they be, in a dungeon, in a catacomb, in a cellar, in a field. Give us only Jesus and His Word, our cup is full. Bring us no incense but the prayers of the saints (the ones on earth, thank you). Give us no food but every Word of God. Give us no logic but the logic of the love of God, we will survive and prosper.

Thus has it ever been when God’s people were cast out from the religious establishments

of men, as they shall ever be. Tortured by emperors, Popes, councils, and their hirelings, the

prevailing government, the true Church has still thrived.

The Church is not in her kingdom form yet. Oh we shall rule. I look forward to that day. But no Scripture even hints that we are to rule anything but our own spirit in this present day. The church today is merely the ekklesia, the ones called out. May God remove our blindness and help us see the true nature of His Body throughout the world.

And away with the lie, “Where Peter is, there is the church”! Such blasphemy! Where Christ is, there is the Church! Christ needs none of our organizations, liturgical observances, days, months, rules, apparel. Christ needs only the human heart.

I must say that your book caused me much pain. First I began reliving my own struggle, and I remembered the very logic which you described so well. I hurt also for your wife Kimberly, torn from all she loved and cared for to go to something so far inferior. I hurt because I was caught off guard and realized I needed to study, pray. Your book demanded an answer or a following.

I chose to answer.

As you well said, the Catholic Church is either of God or it is diabolical. Most in these days do not want to go so far as to call it diabolical. Although I cannot judge the hearts of individual Catholics, I can say without hesitation that anything in the Roman system not founded firmly in His revealed Word is demonic, pure and simple.

I guess you know that many many people are coming out of Rome. Not all of them are forsaking the Lord and His Word, Scott. Surely this has pricked your conscience, hasn’t it? How can people like my friend Richard Bennett in Portland, Oregon, leave the Church after 22 years in the priesthood? Have you taken an exit poll, Scott, and had the courage to ask them why they are leaving? They don’t seem to think Rome is a sweet home, either.

Reducing the Stress of Being an Entrepreneur

Starting and running your own business can be exciting and rewarding, but it can also be very stressful. For most of our almost 40 year marriage my husband has been an entrepreneur and I have sometimes worked with him. Having built my own business as a Stress Reduction Coach I have been reflecting on the stresses of being an entrepreneur.

Signs and sources of stress

Some of the signs of stress overload include irritability, anxiety about the sustainability of the business, and/or high business debt. Relationships within the family can suffer if they do not understand the entrepreneurial drive or the time and effort it takes to start and run a business. For women entrepreneurs, the job of running the household and balancing work and home can create enormous stressors. When you work from home, all the household tasks that need to be done can pull you away from your business. People who are drawn to be entrepreneurs are sometimes idea people who don’t like detail and repetitive tasks. Having to work on those things can create stress as well. And when you’re stressed it’s harder to concentrate and focus.

Organize your environment

One of the solutions is to reduce the stress and create an environment that discourages stress. Have a place where you can keep everything together and organized. A written plan of action for the business posted where you can see it along with a daily plan can help you focus the time you have available.

A system that works for me

I am not a person who comes to organization easily and I have struggled to find a way that works. Daytimers and lists help for a short while, but I have never been able to keep up with them. One thing I have found that works is to have a “big picture overview” of what needs to be done where I can see it. I have a poster board size piece of “static cling” presentation sheet that adheres to my door. It can be easily rolled up and removed if needed. I have several categories that I’ve posted at the top of the sheet, such as “website,” “presentation,” etc. These are written on standard sized post-it notes so they can be easily removed and changed. I brainstorm everything I need to do on small post-it notes. After I brainstorm, I then organize the notes in the appropriate columns. I also have a category that says TODAY for the urgent and important things. I can glance at the poster while I am working and see what else I might need to do and when I finish what I need to do, I can throw the post-it away. If something comes up that is not posted, I can put it on a post-it note and put it where it needs to be.

This “system” helped me write many graduate papers and I used it when I planned and wrote my dissertation. Now it helps me as I plan and work my business. This is just one technique that helps me reduce the stress of being an entrepreneur.

Advantages of Digital Delivery

Digital delivery is one of the terms used to describe electronic distribution, or digital distribution, which is the process of downloading information directly from the internet to a home computer. With modern technology there is no longer a need for physical objects traditionally used to distribute media, such as paper and DVDs. Consequently digital delivery has now become part and parcel of modern life and gives people quick, easy access to a huge range of information.

Two of the most common items that are obtained through digital delivery are books and music. EBooks are becoming increasingly popular as people recognize the many benefits of purchasing their reading material in downloadable, rather than traditional print, form. Electronic books are ideal for traveling when space may be restricted as a slim laptop or eBook reader takes up far less room than a stack of bulky books. The number of people across the world who purchase their music in downloads instead of in CD format is huge; the song files can be stored on a computer and copied onto a blank disc if required. Again, far less space is required.

One of the main advantages of digital delivery is it provides the customer with their desired product instantly (or only takes the time required to download, which depends on the internet speed set up in the individual’s home or office). With no need to wait for an item to be delivered via traditional routes, which can always be subject to delay, the customer is kept happy that they have what they want straight away. All they need to do is enter their credit or debit card information to pay for the purchase at the appropriate time. Some of the most well known digital distributors include iTunes Store, Mac App Store, 7Digital and CD Baby.

On the production side, digital distribution has allowed many types of artists to showcase their talents and make money by making their products available online. With effective marketing and a little technical know-how, it is possible for independent music artists and aspiring authors to earn a living and build up a fan base without having a recording deal or publishing contract in place. In many ways digital distribution has opened up the market to previously untouched talent.

Golf Shirt or Polo Shirt: What’s The Difference?

The golf shirts on the market today feature a roomier chest, bigger arm holes, longer sleeves just to the elbow and an extended shirt tail. The oversized features allow freedom of motion during the golf swing.

The climate cool material is made of 100% polyester that will keep you cool on those hot and humid days on the links. Due to the moisture wicking technology, this material actually removes the perspiration away from your skin to keep you dry. When your skin is dry you naturally feel cooler. The anti-bacterial finish helps eliminate body odor. If you tend to perspire a lot I would highly recommend this type of material. Stay away from the 100% cotton material for your golf shirts because when they get damp from perspiration or rain they tend to restrict your swing.

For more added comfort some manufacturers like Adidas and Izod heat screen their size labels into the neck for tag less comfort. Everyone has had a golf shirt that the size label has rubbed you the wrong way. Cutting it off doesn’t help, it actually makes it worse. Then you try taping it down, it works for awhile until the tape falls off and then you’re back to the same situation. With the new tag less label you never have this problem.

The new materials that the manufacturers are using now will keep their shape and comfort level up for many laundry washings. The UV rays from the sun won’t fade them as much as the 100% heavy cotton; these shirts tend to fade around the collar and the shoulder areas from just being out in the sun. This is especially true with the darker colors.

The original classic fit polo shirts features are somewhat smaller in the chest and sleeves. The sleeves extend halfway down on the bicep and the arm holes are smaller. These features may restrict your golf swing a bit if your intent is to wear it while playing golf. Stick to the golf shirt for the added comfort.

There are two other styles of polo shirts to choose from. The custom fit polo is smaller in the chest, has shorter sleeves and shorter shirt tail. The slim fit polo has the narrowest chest of the two and is not made to tuck in your pants. These two styles will wear well under a sport jacket but are not recommended to wear for a round of golf.

Both the golf shirts and the polo shirts are designed to keep you cool and comfortable on the links or at a back yard BBQ.

I have pointed out some of the differences in them, so now hopefully you have more information at your disposal to you make your next purchase.

If you have to file for bankruptcy, you would need the debtor education and bankruptcy courses. These high-energy and motivating courses are not only fun, but also they meet all court requirements for pre-discharge debtor education in all states and territories. The latter course teaches you about the types of bankruptcy that can be filed.

A few years ago, a step was added to the bankruptcy filing process. Individuals filing for bankruptcy must take part in an approved credit counseling course before filing for bankruptcy. Also, before you get a discharge at the end of your case, another class on personal financial management must be taken. There are very limited exceptions for both requirements, however very few folks will qualify for them.

Once you have filed for bankruptcy, you are required to complete a debtor education course before you can get your discharge. In addition to the credit counseling need in bankruptcy, debtor education is required. In a nutshell, before you can file for your insolvency, you are required to complete a credit counseling course and before you can receive a discharge, you need to complete a debtor education course.

After your case is filed, you must complete the debtor education course. If you filed for straight bankruptcy, you have to finish it within 60 days of the date assigned for your meeting of creditors. In corporate bankruptcy, it must be completed before you make your last plan payment.

Similar to credit counseling, an approved agency must be used to file your certificate of completion with the court (the course can be completed in person, online or over the phone). If you fail to complete the requirement of debtor education course, the court can close your case without a release and additional fees will have to be paid in order to reopen your case to file your certificate.

The focus of debtor education course is on life post bankruptcy. It educates you on how to manage your money, use credit judiciously, and make the most of your bankruptcy discharge. The primary purpose of debtor education is to educate you on how to make sound and robust financial decisions to prevent bankruptcy in the future.

Since the debtor education course will cover money management techniques, you will still have to create a budget using your income and expenses after bankruptcy. But in contrast to credit counseling (which tries to figure out whether you need to file for bankruptcy), the focus of this course will be primarily in educating you about how to manage your money, budget and use credit wisely after a discharge in bankruptcy is received.

HTML – Beyond the Basic Page – The "A" Tag

In another article we learned the basic structure and code to create a simple web page. Several tags were introduced without much detail. Here for a quick review is a basic web page with each of the following words (tags) contained by brackets. is an opening tag and is a closing tag.

When you’re making web pages, sooner or later you’ll want to send your viewer to another page (or another part of the same page). Your tool to accomplish this is the tag. The basic tag includes:

1. the destination page

2. letters (or an image) for the user to click

3. an end tag.

This is what it looks like click here . All that is visible on the page is “click here”. When your visitor clicks on those words they will be sent to ‘pagetwo.html’.

You may need to study that a little because I know it can be confusing at first.

– the opening tag–

– the letters (or image) the user will click- ‘click here’

– the closing tag–

If you have a basic web page created, make a duplicate in the same folder (save it as two.html and put some other text between the body tags). Then create an a tag for it. If you don’t already have a basic page, copy the code (at the top) to notepad (or any simple word processor) and save it as one.html

OK, Here we go. Open one.html (not in the browser) in notepad (or any basic word processor).

Between the body tags (all on one line) put the following–

go to two

Then save this. Now when you open one.html (in the web browser), you will see the words “go to two”. When you click on those words, your new page (two.html) will open in the browser (if you didn’t put anything between the body tags it will be blank). Then if you click the browser ‘back’ button you’ll go back to page one.

Congratulations. Cool, huh. If it doesn’t work the first time, go back and study the code a little more. Every letter, quote and bracket must be included and in the right place.

Job Search: 7 Tips for Successful Phone Interviews

The phone interview is such a crucial part of the hiring phase because if you can’t make a good first impression on the phone, your chances of being invited for an in-person interview are nil. Below are 7 tips to keep in mind for successful phone interviews.

1. Choose a quiet environment. Be sure you’re taking the call in a place where you won’t be distracted and where you won’t have background noises such as the television, radio, dogs barking, kids crying, etc. For example, if you are surprised by a call on your cell phone while at the grocery store, ask the person if you can call them right back or put them on hold until you can find a quiet, secluded place to speak. Better yet, ask the caller if you can schedule the interview for a mutually convenient time, preferably for when you can be away from the commotion and can take notes.

2. Prepare as you would for an in-person interview. You might be the type who can answer questions on the fly, and maybe you know the job description quite well by heart. Still, it’s best to prepare ahead of time and have your notes, the job description, your resume, and whatever other reference materials you need within reach. The majority of phone interviews are efficient screening calls made by recruiters. They want to know if you fit the criteria of the job description and if your salary is in the ballpark. Experienced recruiters can usually determine this pretty quickly. However, you might find that some recruiters prefer to have a more in-depth conversation with you, and sometimes it’s the hiring manager who conducts the phone interview. Just in case, you should prepare as you would for a full-fledged, in-person interview.

3. Be prepared to answer screening-out questions. The typical purpose of the phone interview is to screen out candidates. The interviewer is looking for red flags. He or she is trying to narrow the field of candidates and select the best matches to invite in for a face-to-face interview. You’ll get questions like:

  • Why are you looking for a new position? (Answer in a positive way no matter how unhappy you are about your situation!)
  • Walk me through your background. Why did you leave here, why did you leave there… ? (Always give a positive spin to your reason for leaving. Talk about what you did in your previous experience as it relates back to the position at hand.)
  • What are your strengths/weaknesses?
  • What was your biggest accomplishment during your last position?
  • What specific projects have you worked on?
  • Why are you interested in our position/company?

4. Engage with good questions. First of all, definitely ask questions. However, don’t ask what could appear to be “it’s all about me” questions. Also, at this stage, it’s better for the interviewer to be the one who mentions money or benefits. These are topics that you might have to address when asked about them during a phone interview, but they’re best left, if at all possible, until the later and/or final stages of the hiring process. Your only goal at this point should be to convince the interviewer that your skills and experience fit their needs. Ask the interviewer how success is defined for this position. Ask the interviewer what are the most important elements of the job description. Ask the interviewer why the position is open. Those are examples of good questions for a phone interview. And, of course, listen well to their responses, taking notes if you can.

5. Speak clearly. This might be an obvious tip, but it’s such a vital thing to remember with phone interviews because it’s through your words and your tone of voice that you get the chance to make a great impression. Keep the mouthpiece near your mouth. Don’t chew gum, eat, drink, or smoke. Sounds are amplified over the phone – the sounds of smacking, chewing, swallowing, and inhaling/exhaling are certain to be picked up. Besides, if your mouth is busy with that other activity, you won’t be as coherent as you need to be when you need to speak.

6. Use the name of your interviewer. Write down the name of the interviewer when you first hear it, and use it occasionally throughout the conversation. People like the sound of their own name, and this easy tip will go a long way in helping you to build rapport. Beware that you don’t overdo it though. The key word here is “occasionally.” Using a person’s name every time you respond could sound contrived and unnatural.

7. Smile. Let the interviewer “hear the smile” in your voice. Some experts says that you should prop up a mirror where you are doing the interview so that you can observe yourself and, therefore, remind yourself to smile. If you prefer not to do that, at least have a post-it note with the word “smile” written on it, and put it where you’ll see it during the call. Phone interviewing deprives you of the chance to communicate your excitement and interest through your facial expressions and eye contact. Your voice is the only way you have to project positive energy and convey how you feel. You’ll naturally feel more enthusiastic when you smile, and your voice will definitely reflect your smile.
