Grow Your Business With The Digital Marketing Strategy

Whether you're re-launching a product, starting a business, or strategizing a new digital marketing plan for next year, understanding the fundamentals of digital marketing is essential to your success.

For marketers at small businesses, solo-marketers or those working for a large corporate team, digital marketing tactics will help your organization get found online by the right people to attract, convert, close and delight with your products and services.

So What Exactly is Digital Marketing?

Digital marketing is an umbrella term for all of your online marketing efforts. Businesses leverage digital channels such as Google search, social media, email, and their websites to connect with their current and prospective customers.

From your website itself to your online branding assets – digital advertising, email marketing, online brochures, and beyond – there's a huge spectrum of tactics and assets that fall under the umbrella of digital marketing.

Here's a quick rundown of some of the most common assets and tactics:

Assets

Blog posts

Social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)

Earned online coverage (PR, social media, and reviews)

Online brochures and lookbooks

Branding assets (logos, fonts, etc.) common assets and tactics:

eBooks and whitepapers

Interactive tools

Being a newbie marketer, it's obviously scary for you to rely on a new technology you're stranger to. But, We are telling here four compelling reasons why you should dispense a part of your marketing budget for digital marketing.

1. It Helps To Pitch Those Who Are Interested

It propagates methods and solutions that help to target your customers on the basis of consumer demographics, behaviors, interactions and several other segmentation. Using paid search, you can create adverts that target those audiences who are affluent enough to buy your product. Though I won't predict 100% percent success rate for paid search or PPC, the result it delivers will be better than the traditional methods you've used so far. If that interests you, choose any of the popular platforms like Facebook ads, Google Ads and Twitter ads to see your business grow.

2. It Helps To Find, Test and Evaluate

It helps you come up with a more effective marketing strategy for your brand. Even after execution of the campaign, you can measure its performance like that traffic it got and conversation happened using analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights. From planning to performance reporting, the tools let you measure the results precisely.

3. Create, Change, Create, Change … and so on

Can you change a newspaper or radio advert if you notice ambiguity in the first place or feeling it weak enough to serve the purpose? Absolutely not. With digital marketing, you can do it. You can edit or rewrite a blog / article or review written to promote a campaign even after getting it published. Similarly, the online ad campaigns made for Facebook and other advertisement platforms can be run, stopped, or modified at any point in time. So, the advantages are visible. Test your campaign and keep experimenting until you end up with the most effective marketing campaign.

4. It's Interactive. Ask Feedback and Improve

Another benefit of having digital marketing methods on board is that you can begin and medium two-way communication with buyers. Digital marketing enables two way communication with outer world and helps to gain insight how audience is responding to your campaign. For instance, marketers can participate in group discussions running across the social network groups & communities, and can discuss in detail about their products and services on offer.

Why Wedding Decorations Play a Major Role in Weddings

Everyone loves to have a “fairy-tale” wedding, and it is the decor that adds glamour to the wedding. Wedding decorations play a very important role in setting up the tone for a wedding. When you talk about a beach wedding or a ballroom wedding or a tropical wedding, it is the decorations that make it special or classic or luxurious. For the very reason a lot of thought goes into the wedding decor. The decorations can make a look ethereal, and radiate love, warmth and happiness. Whether it is a budget or a lavish wedding, decorations set the mood for the celebrations.

When it comes to Indian weddings, we see a lot of colourful decorations. And to make a wedding colourful you need to plan properly. If it is a traditional style wedding, you should select the floral decorations that reflect the setting.

Today, people love a combination of traditional and modern decor. For instance, the stage where the wedding ceremony takes place will have a traditional decor with yellow marigold and other flowers that are unique to Indian weddings. And the reception setting will be totally contemporary with white as the theme, complete with elegant floral arrangements.

It include the proper preparation of the venue. After choosing the venue, the next step is to decorate it to match the wedding theme, taking into consideration the bride and the grooms likes and dislikes.

Indian weddings are colourful events. The bride and the groom will be wearing colourful clothes, with a predominance of red. When it comes to a wedding with a western theme, you will find a lot of whites and creams.

For a well-coordinated wedding, the decorations should blend in with the chosen theme.

Colours define the decor

For instance, if it is a beach wedding, the colour choice will be blue and white. The choice of colour is an important decision to get the theme right. However, there is no colour restriction as such. It is up to the couple to decide. If you have a wedding planner or event management team managing your wedding, they will of course ask your colour preferences. Look at different shades before you give your suggestions. Your wedding attire should not clash with the decorations.

Flowers complement the decor

A lot of drapery, carpeting and flowers are used to enhance the theme of the wedding. Floral arrangements should complement the decor. You can talk to the wedding planner about your preferences. For instance, we see a predominance of yellow, orange and red flowers in a traditional decor. A modern decor will have white, cream, peach, pink and even tints of blue in floral arrangements

Look for inspirations

You can take inspiration from other weddings; there is nothing wrong with that. Many people copy Bollywood and Hollywood-style weddings. So you can refer movies for inspiration. Hire a good decorator early enough. But before entrusting them with your wedding decorations see their previous works and then decide.

Wedding decorations are what make a wedding special and grand. So plan well in advance and hire a good decorator to make your wedding decoration distinctive.

Digital Marketing Degree at UofM Dearborn

I am currently enrolled as a student at the University of Michigan Dearborn College of Business. My majors are Digital Marketing and Information Technology Management. I think the weight of this duel degree will carry a special edge upon entering the business world. UofM Dearborn was one of the very first schools to offer this specialized degree in Digital Marketing. It is important to understand how this degree is different than a normal Marketing degree and the ramifications it will have for the business world.

Why is this degree so important? The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics show that the market research analysts and marketing specialists increase in number is at 32% expectancy during 2012-2022, surpassing the national average of merely 11% for other professions. This is clear evidence that not only will jobs in this field be available, but businesses will be actively seeking out candidates to fill these positions. Commonly, a business faces a dilemma when looking to hire digital marketers. They must either hire a person skilled in regular marketing that must be trained extensively or they must hire in a seasoned digital marketing veteran that requires a much higher salary. Businesses instead will now be looking to fill this void with students that have this pertinent degree.

More and more businesses are moving their marketing campaigns to focus heavily on their online platforms. The perks of marketing this way are more extensive than merely reaching a wider audience than other marketing means. Online marketing allows for real time analytics to be transferred back to the people running the campaign. This allows the business to alter and change their campaign as they see fit. Also, in this day and age information is king. Digital marketing allows for companies to collect their own information and data free of charge.

Here at the University of Michigan Dearborn, we have classes that focus mainly on digital marketing and are supplemented with traditional marketing courses. These classes range from learning how to rank a webpage on the first page of Google to processing and transposing data analytics in a meaningful way. The core classes required for the digital marketing major are as follows:

From here a student must also choose two of the following classes:

  • Marketing Management
  • Global Marketing and Consumer Culture
  • Database Systems 1
  • Advanced Computer Applications

All of these requirements are in addition to the normal classes needed for a Bachelor’s in Business Administration.

The uses of this degree are endless. A person with this degree is equipped to handle social media pages, website management, content management, digital analytics, etc. With everything going digital these days, it only make sense that marketing will continue down this path too.

Baby Shower Decorations – Impress Your Guests With Your Flair

You are in charge … In charge of what you might ask? You have been given the responsibility to plan and successfully execute the best baby shower ever! Have you started to feel the pressure yet? Well the primary objective is to put on a great party and to make it a memorable occasion, especially for the mom to be. One of the key aspects to hosting a fantastic baby shower is to make sure the baby shower decorations are unique and creative.

Coming up with ideas for the baby shower decorations is not quite as daunting as you may first think. There are, however, a few key essential aspects of the decorating process that you should put a little extra care and attention into.

The table Centerpieces are, without doubt, considered to be the most important item when it comes to baby shower decorations, and should be designed with many things in mind. Firstly, and most importantly, the main table centerpiece should be a practical gift that the mother-to-be can take home and use when her new little bundle of joy arrives. This centerpiece should be not only gorgeous to look at, but also filled with lots of useful items for the new babe. Additionally the centerpiece creation should be able to inspire conversation amongst the guests.

Here are some excellent tips for you to follow in creating a simply brilliant centerpiece. Importantly you should start off by selecting a base that is useful once the centrepiece has been dismantled. For example why not build your centerpiece using a baby tub, diaper bag or even something as simple as a cake platter – these are all useful items that can be reused later and are all very effective when adapted as the base of the decoration.

You then add lots and lots of other equally useful items for the mom-to-be and her new baby. Good things to adorn the base with include pacifiers, diapers, bottles, new born clothes and why not top off the centerpiece creation with a large bunch of pink or blue helium balloons. These Centerpiece baby shower decorations look simply stunning sitting in the middle of the table and they will certainly be sure to come in very handy once the baby is born.

Party Favors – What would any baby shower decorations be without including some top little party favors for each of the guests? Here is an excellent idea for some beautiful low cost party favors that will be loved by each and every one of your guests.

Take some cloth napkins and fold each of them into small triangles and then pin them so that they each look like miniature diapers. You then fill these 'mini diapers' with a selection of dried fruits, nuts, candy and chocolates. Place one of these great little favor decorations on the table for the each of the guests to enjoy. Another delightful baby shower favor is a personalized candle. Source a selection of inexpensive votive candles and decorate them with a special printed message suggesting that when the new baby is born that the candle should be lit in its honor.

Now you have created a centerpiece and party favors – the next item on the list is the task of making the rest of the room (or outdoor area if the party is to be held outside) look fantastic and blend in with your chosen theme or look .

So how do you successfully transform a room or area to create an atmosphere that says "baby"? Well you can start off by taking tulle in either pink or blue or a combination of these colors and wrapping it around a strand of clear Christmas lights. Then add similar colored bows every two or three feet and this will create a swag that can be hung around the perimeter of the room or space. This looks simply stunning and is ideal to form the basis of a room's decorations.

You can also add loads of pink, blue or both colored helium balloons. The best way is to tie matching colored ribbons to the balloons and let them loose where they touch the roof of the room and the ribbons hang down giving a mystical appearance. This is a very colorful, effective and inexpensive decoration.

All of these ideas were created by hostesses just like you so why not take these suggestions and refine them so that you can come up with your very own brilliant baby shower decorations.

You … An Immortal Entrepreneur?

This is probably one of the most important lessons I have shared with business people this year.

Do you want to know the secret of becoming Immortal in Business?

You leave behind a legacy that outlives you and your business. Your business becomes a vehicle for giving you AND others a level of freedom.

How do you reach such success to be able to do this?

You find a way to turn your passion into profit for a purpose.

Passion is the starting point to all great successes and happiness in life. The business owners who thrive are driven internally by their love for what they do. If you have ever found yourself lacking motivation it's because you have lost your passion for a moment.

Your passion can come from the strangest source. It doesn't have to be your product necessarily. It can be the Team work. It could be the success of your customers as a result of dealing with you. It can be training others to succeed.

Whatever it is, stay focused on that passion and act on it daily. You will notice it becomes effortless as you get into the "flow".

This "flow" is something many sports people speak of. Business owners can access the same power.

But turning your passion into profit is another thing. To do this, you must combine your passion with your strengths. Without your strongest talents and skills being naturally used, your passion can leave you running around in circles like a motivated dog chasing its tail.

You see, I have a passion for music. The problem is I'm not highly talented in music. So for me to pursue a career in it would be foolish. We all have passions in many areas. To succeed you need to work with your greatest strengths.

One of my other passions is for business. I love the psychology of selling and marketing. Thankfully, it is also one of my greatest strengths. You must get clarity around your own strengths and passions to truly experience freedom, wealth and happiness.

"Success becomes a natural consequence of combining your passions with your strengths."

Delegate what you are not strong at and give it to someone who is.

Every minute you invest working on something you are passionate about is a minute well invested. Every minute spent doing something that you don't enjoy or aren't very good at is doubly wasted.

You lose the minute you could have invested on your own passion. And you lose a minute of someone else's life by not giving them the opportunity to work with their strengths and passions by delegating it to them.

Ever notice how many people are running around working on projects or jobs they don't like. If we all began to develop a deeper understanding of this, we could collectively begin to change it. And it all begins with you and me.

I hope this helps give you some clarity as you enter the New Year.

Since this is the final time I get to chat with you this year I have an extra gift for you.

New Book Provides Practical Advice for Protecting Digital Life and Identity

Brian Maki’s “Little Black Book” offers a common sense approach to dealing with the difficulties that technology has introduced into our lives. As a computer instructor and consultant for more than twenty years, Maki has seen how technology has made rapid changes in our lives to the point where we are addicted to being “connected” constantly, feel a lack of patience when we aren’t connected, and have been bombarded with spam email, computer frustrations, and worst of all, the threat of identity theft.

The book’s title refers to the need for us to keep track of our digital life through a non-digital, old-fashioned means-preferably a paper book in which we write all our usernames and passwords, along with keeping a record of any changes we make to our accounts. While Maki also admits a flash drive can serve this purpose, he cautions that flash drives are subject to viruses themselves, and keeping track of passwords on a computer leaves them available to hackers and viruses.

Through numerous short, concise chapters, Maki explains the concerns we all must have about leaving behind our digital footprint. He advocates regularly “googling ourselves,” how to upgrade regularly so we have less headaches down the road, how to deal with junk email, the added dangers to identity theft if you have a cell phone, and the real power that social networking sites have over our lives, and how we can protect ourselves from the information such sites are collecting about us.

But what sets this book apart the most is that it ties in with the significance of end-of-life planning. After telling the story of William Weber, a man whom Maki helped to organize his digital life before his death, Maki highlights how few of us think about what will happen to our digital life and online identity after we have died. He offers practical advice for monitoring our digital life and planning for closing out accounts to protect against identity theft even after our deaths.

This short book is valuable for focusing on a subject most people never think about. Maki covers numerous topics that will result in helping us to protect our identities, our possessions, our freedom, and overall, our happiness. As Maki states:

“You must reexamine how you interact with the Internet, what you share, why you share it, and learn never to follow the path of Internet trust again. It is your digital life to control.”

As Maki points out, technology is going to be with us for the rest of our lives-it’s not going away-so we actively must learn to control it and protect ourselves from it, putting it in its proper place as necessary only to help us, rather than letting it continue to control our lives. I certainly feel the importance of this need, and I hope other readers will as well.

How to Apply the Information Processing Model For Golf Improvement

The information processing model involves the storage of information in memory, the retrieval of information from memory, and the execution of a movement in response to information (Keele). This sounds interesting, and useful for golf. This article is about applying the knowledge we know about the information processing model, for improved golf.

To begin, the human memory system consists of 3 stores of memory: The Sensory Information Store; Short Term Memory; and Long Term Memory. It’s important to understand how all 3 stores work in order for us to use our memories most effectively.

The first stage in the memory system is the Sensory Information Store, sometimes called the sensory register (Cox). The sensory register has the ability to hold vast amounts of information, but only for very brief time periods. So short in fact, that information is only stored in the sensory register for up to one half second. The information stored briefly in the sensory store enters via input from our senses: vision, hearing, touch, smell and taste.

Information is then passed on into the hub of the Information Processing System: Short term memory. Short term memory is the hub of the Information Processing system because it receives information from the sensory store, as well as permanent memory. The key thing about Short term memory is that information is lost unless it is either highly significant, or rehearsed and memorised quickly. For example, if you received a tip from your swing coach, and practised the tip only once for example, it is likely that that tip will be forgotten.

It is sufficient to conclude that if a person rehearses information in the Short term memory for 20 to 30 seconds, it will then be passed onto to long term memory storage. The effectiveness of a person’s short term memory capacities are also assisted by their ability to skilfully chunk information, that is, the processing of combining several separate pieces into larger ones. For example, a golfer may remember golf swing technique easy by chunking information into categories such as ‘the set up, backswing, and downswing’ for example, making it easier to remember information about the swing.

Information sufficiently chunked and rehearsed in Short term will be passed on into Long term memory. Different to the Sensory register and Short term memory, information in Long term memory is permanent. Information in Long Term memory can be continually updated in conjunction with Short term memory. For example, if a golfer rehearses a swing tip sufficiently, and it works, he/she will then store that information permanently.

The other thing to note about Long term memory is that information is strengthened by retrieving information into short term memory to rehearse it. Suffice to say, it’s important to complete the Lesson recap and Monthly audit exercises I’ve designed below:

1) Conduct a ‘Lesson recap’ following swing lessons.

Purchase a book to be used as a lesson diary. In the evening following a swing lesson, write down the instruction given to you by your coach, for example: ‘soften the right elbow on the backswing when chipping, allowing your right arm to hinge at the elbow’. Below this, write down adjectives to describe how the new movement feels when executed properly. For example: ‘relaxed’, or ‘soft’ would match the above instruction. Finally, write down a goal for ingraining this new technique into your game. For example: my goal is to have my right arm hinge to feel natural, and to happen unconsciously in my swing in 4 weeks time.

2) Conduct a ‘Monthly audit’ of great golf shots

This exercise related to strengthening Long term memory and also making it easier for great swings to be recalled when competing. At the end of every month, write down the best 10 shots you played during that month. Write them down in the following categories:

– Approx date:
– Course played:
– Hole played:
– Club Used:
– What the key was to such a good shot: And lastly,
– What adjective would you use to describe how the shot felt:

Keep these in the same diary as your lesson recaps. At the end of each year, re read through your best month’s shots and come up with the years 10 best shots!

A Brief History Of Decorative Concrete

In the early nineteenth century there were lots of companies that trained members to produce innovative building facades by using colors and stains to make their work look more interesting and unique. There are certain methods that were essentially applied like mixing pigment into fresh concrete or even submerging in solutions that resembles chemical stains.

Since it is a well known fact metallic oxide shades do not become paler in ultraviolet glow, during the initial stages of the twentieth century, several craftsmen blended pigments to apply color on concrete. The L.M. Scofield Company was the first ever company to make a mark by manufacturing colors for concrete. The original creations comprised color hardeners like cement, color wax, chemical stains and sealers. In the year 1920, the company relocated to Los Angeles. It had a certain belief that the market in Southern California would prove to be much more profitable than the other parts of the nation. Renowned people like Mary Pickford, Groucho Marx, Cherlie Chaplin and many others used the products of Scofield to build their homes.

Stamped concrete was one such method that was discovered around fifty years ago. This became quite popular ever since. The market for stamped concrete grew immensely in 1970. It was since then that the designers, architects and the contractors realized the advantages of implementing stamped concrete for building driveways. It worked really well to aid the process of crafting out delicate designs and was extremely affordable in contrast to other forms of concrete.

With time there was a huge splurge in the designs with loads of them available at simply attractive prices. The methods of applications and designs have drastically changed following the stage whether the users were exposed to only a handful of designs. As the industry kept growing, an increasing number of companies ventured into the field of manufacturing concrete products. With such market conditions, manufacturers began producing materials in higher quantities and the designs too became more intricate.

Many tools were also introduced to the market at that time which made the task of installation installing designs simpler than ever. Creation of designs started gaining pace and became more defined. Quite a few coloring options like acid stains, transparent stains, and for that matter, other high quality dyes almost took the market by storm. They were used to apply color to the concrete and were much more efficient and durable and stayed on for a lot longer. At present, stamped concrete can be found on patios, parking lots, driveways and more.

How To Define Entrepreneurial Spirit

The entrepreneurial spirit is often difficult to define let alone examine in detail because of its perception as a highly creative and dynamic entity and it is with this caveat that this article is written.

Whilst the entrepreneurial spirit can be applied to a wide range of disciplines and professionals it is perhaps most closely associated with the world of business and incorrectly used to describe many successful business people, when in fact very few individuals can truly demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit.

Historical Context of the meaning of entrepreneur

The word itself is French in origin and if interpreted in its literal context means “between jobs”. It is interesting that a word that has come to project the very pinnacle of success should have such mundane roots as a means of describing being unemployed.

This article examines a number of concepts that appear intrinsic to what constitutes entrepreneurial spirit

1. Uniqueness

In a highly developed global business community where new ideas and business models are increasingly in short supply the importance of uniqueness cannot be under estimated and those exhibiting an entrepreneurial spirit are often associated with concepts that encapsulate originality and ingenuity. Take for example, Steve Jobs bringing the Apple IPOD to the market,

2. Creativity

Creativity is heavily connected to uniqueness but the two are not identical. Individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit are experienced at harnessing the creative process to help them produce a unique product /service or advantage. So where as uniqueness describes the end outcome, creativity describes the process of how one achieves it. For this reason those with an entrepreneurial spirit are often creative individuals who are ready, willing and able to actively adopt new techniques to get ahead even at the expense of being ridiculed by others.

3. Risk Taking

In a western society that is so often risk averse, those with entrepreneurial spirit embrace risk taking and it is impossible for such a concept not to be associated with entrepreneurs and the often high risk potential involved in following a new cutting edge approach. It must be observed however that risk is not the same as recklessness and those demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit are likely to be adept at assessing the risks involved in any undertaking.

4. Business Savy

As highlighted previously those with entrepreneurial spirit should not be considered as reckless mavericks indeed quite the opposite, good entrepreneurs are motivated by profit and are skilled at identifying a lucrative niche in the market that can be exploited for profit. Take for example, Steve Jobs at Apple Computers who has successfully navigated a profitable course in the computing and software industry despite the market being dominated by Microsoft and IBM for a number of decades. In addition he was the first to spot the potential of utilising the computing industry to open a new market to the music fraternity , with the introduction of the IPOD, the market leader in its business stream. Such actions requires great skill and confidence and demonstrate a clear entrepreneurial spirit.

5. Developing Potential

Identifying, Investing in and nurturing potential are also essential to the ideals attached associated with entrepreneurial spirit because of the need to find differing solutions to a business problem.

Established businesses often fail to discover breakthroughs because they stick to a rigid investment formula that has worked for them in the past rather than finding new ways of moving forward.

6. Adaptability

The entrepreneurial spirit is always adaptable and ready to overcome barriers presented by business problems and is usually quicker at resolving those issues than mainstream business thinkers.

7. Ultimately Destructive

Entrepreneurial spirit is ultimately destructive to its own business in the medium term unless those engaged in utilizing the concept recognize when it is time to handover to mainstream management focussed individuals who can maintain and develop the organisation. This is because true entrepreneurial spirit is obsessed with constant creativity and change which is unsettling to employees without good management and a clear direction. Many of those demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit rarely stay long term in any enterprise they undertake, take Richard Branson for example who after launching numerous businesses under the “Virgin” brand has subsequently sold on many of these to third parties at a huge profit to himself.

Summary

In conclusion whilst there are certainly key characteristics which encapsulate the entrepreneurial spirit it would be foolish to pretend that any one individual has all those traits and even more foolish to believe that such a concept can be comprehensively defined. It is also short sighted to believe that those with entrepreneurial spirit are only evident in the business community, indeed many different disciplines and vocations have historical and existing individuals contained within them that could be essentially described as entrepreneurs.

Well Known individuals exhibiting the entrepreneurial spirit : Richard Branson, Clive Sinclair, Freddy Laker, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Anita Roddick.

Words often used to describe individuals with entrepreneurial spirit : Mavericks, Tycoons, pathological liars, risk takers, self made business people, successful, charismatic.
